I proved you’re never too old to achieve
what you really want to do.’

I took time off last week to celebrate my birthday and spend time with family and friends.
For the last 10 years the week before and the day of my birthday were very difficult for me. Each year I kept thinking, I was a year older and what was I really accomplishing with my life. After getting through the day of my birthday, I felt better ans started thinking this was a new year and I would be accomplishing great things.
After a few days of feeling sorry for myself, I made a decision, this year would be different and I would enjoy my birthday. I started making a list of all my accomplishments and was pleasantly surprised to see how I was achieving my goals. Doing this simple little activity, changed my outlook and this year I had a beautiful birthday week.
Some of my achievements:
· Maintaining a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy and exercising.
· Having loving and supportive relationships with my family members and friends.
· Being a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
· Willing to take a risk and learn from the experience.
· Managing a successful coaching business.
· Blogging and loving it.
What are some of your achievements, I would love to hear about them.

Helen,
Happy belated birthday!
Sounds like you used an effective tool to make this birthday a joyus experience.
I live a very blessed life, I have many achievments which I have accomplished. In the past year, I have stuck to my committment to write five days a week, I have learned how and when to rejuvinate, I have removed toxic energy sources from my life and attracted positive energy sources into my life. I grow each day within my spirit and at the same time I give less and less time and space to my ego. These are just a few.
Have a great night!
Dear Helen,
Happy Birthday to you! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I read through a couple of your posts, and you have a wonderful style!
I'm not sure how many things I've really "accomplished" in my life that I set out to do, but two things that come to mind are having two children before I was 30 and being married again before I turned 40! Both of these goals were realized!
Isn't it funny how much emphasis we put on reaching goals before a certain age? And then when we don't reach them, we disappoint ourselves. I try to not think about the number...I don't want anyone telling me that I'm too old to have a successful career someday doing something I love. One of my favorite quotes is from George Eliot (who was actually a woman author; that was just her nom de plume): "It's never too late to be what you might have been." I try to live by that quote every day!
Hi Mark:
I love reading you messages. What a great gift you have received to be aware and make different choices.
Hi Lisa:
I had the same accomplishments as you did; two children before thirty and remarried by forty. It has been a growing experience to learn how to acknowledge my other accomplishments.
I was at an International Coaching Federation (ICF) conference and went to a workshop focusing on relationships. One of the tools they discussed was to create a grateful list each day. When I came back from the conference my husband and I started telling each other what we were grateful for that day. After doing this exercise for awhile, I got in the habit of acknowledging my accomplishments.
I also love your quote "Its never too late to be what you might have been."
