Ups and Downs of Being Unemployed
“When we do the best we can,
we never know what miracle
is wrought in our life or
the life of another.”
Helen Keller
Being unemployed creates different options, you can do the best you can in looking for a job or just hide under the covers. The choice is yours.
I know that some days you wake-up and say, “What is the use, I will never find a job again.” Give yourself a break and just lay low that day. While taking care of yourself you will restore your energy and most probably start thinking about action steps that will empower you to move forward.
On the other hand, other days you wake-up and feel motivated to look for a job. On these days you are empowered and make headway during the job search.
Everyday is a new day with new feelings and opportunities happening around you constantly.
Bill was letting the situation of being laid-off create havoc in his life. Every place he turned either the jobs he interviewed for where filled by someone else or the company decided not to hire anyone for the position at this time.
His saving grace was the company who temporarily laid him off would bring the employees back by the middle of November. This thought kept him going.
Bill really did not want to go back to his old job and felt pressured to find something new. He took the right steps of networking with friends, family members and former co-workers. Also, sending resumes and researching job opportunities.
Then one day to make matters worse the company he was temporarily laid-off from decided to close their doors. Bill was in despair.
Bill kept putting one foot in front of the other and out of the clear blue sky a company contacted him who received his resume. He went for 3 interviews and was offered a job that was exciting and financially rewarding.
As Helen Keller says, “When we do the best we can, we never know what miracle
is wrought in our life or the life of another.”
Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and miracles will start to happen.
Please share with the Love Yourself – It Matters Community obstacles you have encountered. Together we will brainstorm ideas to help you move forward with enthusiasm.
